Nearly forty years of practice in Israel, preceded by eleven years of notarial work in Paris. Two generations of lawyers now work at the office.
Our history
It began in Paris in 1970. Michel Abib entered the notarial profession there and stayed eleven years — the years in which one learns that a deed is read line by line, and that a signature binds for a long time.
In 1984 he continued his career in Israel. Four years later, in 1988, he was appointed notary by the notarial affairs commission of the Ministry of Justice. Alongside that Israeli appointment sits the French practice acquired in Paris: the office can handle both, which few firms in Jerusalem can do.
Today the practice receives clients on King David Street in Jerusalem. Michel Abib works alongside Ynon Abib, an advocate since 2014 and a notary since 2025, and Rachel Douieb, who manages the office. Files are not passed around: they are followed through.
The firm
The way we work
What sets us apart is the direct relationship with our clients: candid, clear and respectful. Direct, because you speak to the lawyer who knows your file. Candid, because a client told about a difficulty in good time keeps control of the decisions that follow.
Respectful, finally: the matters entrusted to us concern a home, a family, what a person leaves behind. They are handled with the regard that implies, whatever the sums involved.
Languages at the office
We work in Hebrew, French and English. For a client arriving from abroad, that means a meeting held in their own language, Israeli documents explained in that language, and someone across the desk who knows both systems — without having to rely on a translation they cannot check.
